India will host the Cricket World Cup from 5 October to 19 November 2023. An event of major proportions, where ten teams will compete for victory. The host country for the tournament is India, and we remind you that pinupbetting-india.in offers various betting options with excellent odds. Each team in the group will play nine matches and India will kick off with a match against Australia on 8 October at the M. A. Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai.

Australia and India’s bid for the 2023 World Cup

Initially, both teams announced their provisional bids before gradually reducing the list of players and then the finalised list was released.

Australia: Pat Cummins (capt), Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, David Warner, Adam Zampa.

India: Rohit Sharma (Captain), Hardik Pandya (Vice-captain), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Ishan Kishan, KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Ravindra Jadeja, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohd. Shami, Mohd. Siraj, Kuldeep Yadav.

that all teams are allowed to make changes to the squads until 28 September, after which any changes will be subject to approval from the ICC. Both the teams are approaching the upcoming tournament with optimal squads, while some highly qualified players were short of a place in the squad.

History of Australia vs. India at the World Cup

India approaches the upcoming game as favourites. Australia is a strong team, but our team is a more than serious opponent, who, moreover, plays at home.

We suggest you to remember how Australia and India played each other in previous World Cups, and also remind you that Pin Up Bet India is a great opportunity of betting on World Cup matches at bookmaker with high odds and a lot of events.

In 1983, India and Australia played each other in the group stage. Then the victory was gained by our team, which won with a difference of 118 rounds.

In 1987, Australia was stronger than India, winning with a difference of one round.

In 1992, the World Cup was hosted by Australia and New Zealand. Then our team lost by one point.

In 1996, India was one of the host countries for the tournament. Like the previous time, India lost to Australia, this time in the round of 16.

The series of defeats continued in 1999 as well. Australia won again and did so by a margin of 77 rounds.

In 2003, Australia and India played each other twice at the World Cup: the Australian team won the group stage with a difference of nine wickets, but it did not prevent our team from entering the next stage and reaching the final. In the deciding match, India again played Australia. And once again it lost.

At the 2011 World Cup, Australia and India faced each other in the quarter-finals. In the quarter-finals of the 2011 World Cup, Australia and India crossed paths in the quarter-finals.

In 2015, Australia and India crossed paths in the semi-finals of the World Cup. Again, it was Australia who emerged victorious, winning by a score of 95 runs.

In the last World Cup so far in 2019, India managed to beat Australia by a margin of 36 runs.

To summarise, historically, India’s matches against Australia in the World Cup have not been easy for the Indian team. However, our team has become stronger and the home-wall factor should help the Indians perform confidently at this tournament.
